jQuery and/or Flash

jQuery (a javascript framework) has replaced Flash for many simpler elements like slideshows and interface animations over the last few years. It has the benefit of being fast and viewable on mobile devices.

Flash is still relevant for specific applications and has no equal for deeper compelling experiences that combine sound, video, user data and anything else you can think of. Oh yes, and banner ads.
